I am pleased to present you with the Florida Southern College Alumni Directory, prepared by your Alumni Association. This directory is not only a valuable resource for maintaining your FSC contacts, but it will provide you with an opportunity of looking back at the people who shared your experiences and made for FSC memories. I can�t say that I�m surprised by the comments that I hear from alumni about their FSC experience. Since becoming the sixteenth president of Florida Southern in 1995, I�ve had the opportunity to travel around the world and visit with many of you. You are the teachers, the musicians, the government officials, the generals, the ministers, the CEOs, the scientists, the athletes who are leaders in our communities today. From each of you I hear fond remembrances of professors who went that extra mile to help, of a campus life that gave fun and memories, and of a spiritual life that gave you growth and strength. These visits point out to me time and time again that Florida Southern is a place where lives are changed. With each graduating class and with each new student who chooses the Florida Southern experience, the tradition of excellence continues. Because of your help and support as alumni, we are able to continue to serve the educational and student-life programming needs of today�s student. You help us be able to realize that knowledge is not found in one book, or one course, or in a degree, but in a combination of theory, practice and experience, bringing together disciplines and cultures. Today�s college campus not only addresses some of the same challenges that were in existence 10, 50 or even 100 years ago, but it meets new challenges and directives that you play a vital role in helping us achieve.
